He is an independent Romanian journalist and researcher reporting on human rights, conflict, migration and foreign affairs. His reporting appeared in The Guardian, Al Jazeera English, Libération, Der Spiegel, VICE, Middle East Eye, The Calvert Journal and others. He is also an audio producer and videographer, able to report, script, shoot, record, narrate and edit audio stories, podcasts, short docs and news packages.

Andrei Popoviciu, diplômé 2020 du master joint Journalism and International Affairs, de l'Ecole de journalisme de Sciences Po, gagne le prix #AllforJan 2022, un concours en hommage à Jan Kuciak, un jeune journaliste d'investigation slovaque tué en 2018.

Son enquête, parue dans The Guardian, révèle l'arsenal de surveillance mis en place pour repérer les migrants aux frontières de l'Europe : drones, caméras thermiques, détecteurs de respiration...
