Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

OECD
Since 2013, Sciences Po and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have concluded a partnership which enables Students to participate in their Summer and Winter Internship Programmes. Learn more about those opportunities and discover how to apply !

The OECD : promoting policies to improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

The OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. Working with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change, they set international standards on a wide range of domains from agriculture and tax to the safety of chemicals, and recommend policies designed to improve the quality of people's lives.

The OECD Internship Programmes

The OECD Internship Programme has been designed to bring highly qualified and motivated students with diverse backgrounds into the Organisation to work on projects linked to the Strategic Orientations of the Secretary-General. Successful candidates gain exposure to high-level policy-making and research, and have an unparalleled opportunity to improve their analytical skills in a truly international environment.

What do OECD interns do?

With over 450 interns passing through the doors of the Organisation each year, no one internship is the same! Broadly speaking, interns provide background research and analysis; they help organise and evaluate statistical information; they may assist with coordinating high-level event organisation and designing communication strategies. Some interns work on a specific project; others provide a valuable extra pair of hands on a variety of work across and beyond their team. Throughout, the focus is on building on their classroom learning and developing their professional competencies.

Can anyone intern at the OECD?

OECD Internship programmes are open to masters students only, as long as they are enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited educational or research institution for the duration of their internship. Interns must speak fluent English or French, and can come from any country (i.e. not just OECD Members).

Special opportunities for Sciences Po Students

Thanks to our partnership with the OECD, Sciences Po Students can enter the Partner University Programme. Sciences Po Students are therefore first shortlisted in a competitive process run by Sciences Po Careers and their School. Pre-selected Students will then enter a roster of talents, and can be contacted by the OECD during the whole period of the internship programme (between Januany and June for the Winter Programme, July and December for the Summer Programme).
Please note that being part of that roster does not entitle you to a fixed internship, but enhances your chances of getting hired depending on the OECD’s Departments needs.

The Summer Internship Programme's call for applications will open in March 2024.
You will receive further information from your school's Career Advisor on the week it opens.
